It is difficult and unreliable to speak about the possible effects of climate change in vegetable growing in general. Instead, forecasts and recommendations for crop management programmes can be given only by possessing profound knowledge about the particular species and production methods, and being aware of the changes. Based on the conclusions of the studies conducted in the 5th frame programme of the EU, the authors summarise the likely changes predicted to occur in the second part of the century in terms of temperature, and precipitation, calling fall significant development of crop management programmes.

Options for using portable frames in vegetable growing

Furthermore, the experience obtained up to now in pepper growing, and last but not least, the elements of the crop management programme recommended for growing under portable frames are also outlined.
