Remediation of soils affected by water damage
(Dr. Márta Birkás)
The study first gives an account of the lessons learned from the excessive volume of water, such as the vulnerability of soils of land less taken care of and the increased resistance to adverse climatic phenomena of lands having been managed with soil conservation techniques for a long time. The author discusses the soil remediation methods according to the seasons and the extent of damages. The most important ones are preventing the increase of the existing damages, increasing the bearing capacity of soils and of the resistance against silting and sedimentation. The success of the programme lies in the knowledge of soil conditions, due care, as well as the proper and step-by-step implementation.

About the awarding ceremony of the maize yield competition
(Dr. László Bódis)

Note (not only) for growers. About integration
In the Note published in the November 2010 number of our journal the author drew the attention of growers not to count only on government support as a single means of their strengthening.
